Despite having migrated from their ancestral lands in the Iron Kingdoms and established a new home far from the provocations and encroachment of human nations, the trollkin of the Southern Kriels have struggled to find the peace and refuge they sought. Conflict has once more come to their settlements, and again they have been forced to take arms and defend their people against foes both old and new.
However, whilst conflict may not be new to this resilient people, the nature of their armies has evolved far beyond what has been seen before. Rather than ragtag warbands knitted together in a patchwork of ancient obligations, tribal associations, and familial bonds, the military might of the Southern Kriels is instead represented by the Kithguard—the most advanced trollkin fighting force ever established.
Though a relatively new fighting force, the Kithguard is led by battle-tested veteran commanders who understand both the stakes of failure and the dire threats they face. Conflict is not new for these valiant heroes. Many learned their deadly trade on the battlefields of war-torn Western Immoren, fighting either for the armies of the Iron Kingdoms or against them.
Each member of the Kithguard knows that they are not only responsible for their own survival, but that they are the last line of defense for the kriels scattered across the continent. Failure is unthinkable—for if that comes to pass, the trollkin will surely begin a decline that not only leads to the untimely death of the Southern Kriels, but the rest of their entire people too.
Yet, there is hope.
The resolve of the Southern Kriels is absolute. Throughout history, the trollkin have faced and overcome every challenge set against them, no matter the foe. Each trial has only strengthened the resolve and warrior spirit in the blood and bones of these brave peoples. Woe betide the intruders to their adopted home, for now more than ever before, the trollkin fight on their own territory, and by their own rules—and in the face of such determined defense, no adversary can possibly prevail.
