Monstrosities of the mind: Cephalyx reinforcements arrive - Steamforged Games

The battlefield minds of the Cephalyx have unleashed their latest experiments: the Wrecker, Warden, and Subduer monstrosities are here, and they’re ready to reshape your battles from the front line forward.

These hulking horrors are a trio of heavy hitters. They’re warped, mind-muzzled engines of war tailored for Dark Operations, the mercenary force led by the sinister hive-minds of the Cephalyx.

Whether you're adding these monstrosities to your collection from the Steamforged store or printing your own via MyMiniFactory, it's never been easier to get these biomechanical brutes on the table.

And if you’re just starting with Dark Operations, don’t miss the Hive Mind Cadre — get yours from the Steamforged store now or included in the free bonus welcome pack with a Warmachine 3D subscription on MyMinifactory.

It’s an ideal command cadre to bring these monstrosities under control (or as close to “under control” as Cephalyx ever allow).

Built for brutality: the Wrecker

“Such purity of purpose is a sight to behold, repugnant as its form might be.” — Axis, the Harmonic Enforcer

The Wrecker doesn’t do subtle. Outfitted with a pair of bladed flails and a thirst for carnage, this monstrosity is designed to crash straight through the enemy’s front line and keep going. With Thresher and Beat Back, it’s perfect for overwhelming infantry and forcing positioning errors. Add in Hyper-Aggressive, and it’s always eager to punish those who dare strike first.

There’s a certain satisfaction in watching your opponent line up their charge, only to get thrown back by the Wrecker’s chain-flailing.

Support your brutes! pair your Wrecker with Exulon Kythos from the Hive Mind Cadre. His command and control abilities make it easier to line up devastating charges and ensure your monstrosities stay in the thick of it, doing what they do best — tearing things apart.

Hard-headed defence: the Warden

Warmachine: Dark Operations Warden Monstrosity

“The weapons of our enemies are inconsequential as long as our protectors stand” — Agitator Hrekon

If the Wrecker is the hammer, the Warden is the shield. Equipped with Grand Slam and a set of crushing mecha fists, the Warden specializes in disrupting charges, hurling models backwards, and holding the line even if it costs their life.

It’s the perfect Cephalyx phalanx. It slams enemies away from fragile support pieces, then rushes to the next threat with that same Hyper-Aggressive mindset.

Running a more defensive-minded list? The Warden makes a fine companion to the Criterions from the Hive Mind Cadre, both of which provide staunch defensive & offensive utility.

Nothing escapes: the Subduer

Warmachine: Dark Operations Subduer Monstrosity

“We require new flesh. Our greatest living tools will bring it to us.” —Fleshforger Lexulus

No one leaves the Subduer’s sights unscathed. This monstrosity acts like a mobile executioner, dragging its prey in with a net launcher before smashing them down with a heavy blade.

It’s particularly effective against elusive mobile models. With Drag & Knockdown, the Subduer excels at peeling away solos, warcasters, or other priority targets your opponent thought were safe.

Its synergy with Dark Operations warcasters is immediate and satisfying. Pair the Subduer with Cognifex Cyphon available through this July’s Warmachine 3D Subscription; get your Cyphon STL before he heads to the Warmachine 3D Tribe store at the end of the month! Your enemies will practically jump at the chance to become your next drudge.

Print & paint

These monstrosities make a striking addition to any Dark Operations army, and they’re a brilliant model to build your sinister Cephalyx  force around. You can pick them up individually from the Steamforged store, or download printable STL versions from MyMiniFactory if you prefer to print at home.

And if you're new to MyMiniFactory’s Warmachine Tribe, now’s a brilliant time to jump in. Your welcome pack includes the Hive Mind Cadre, a full command group for Dark Operations (and Cryx Necrofactorium, if you prefer your experiments as cadavers rather than alive).

Get your monstrosities. Build your force. Command the battlefield with thought, terror, and a little surgical precision.
