Production Update | Warmachine
Production Update
One of our main priorities since acquiring Warmachine has been to improve the production and logistics processes so we can ensure that whether you're a local gaming store owner placing an order with us, or a player buying directly from our website, your orders are dispatched in a timely manner. We want to get your miniatures in your hands as quickly and efficiently as possible.
At the time of the acquisition, the production capacity wasn’t sufficient to handle the orders that were coming in. The result of this was a large existing backlog of orders that needed to be manufactured, and this backlog was only increasing.
Stage one of the production capacity improvement plan was completed last month, and we saw a 50% increase in output.
Demand for Warmachine has surged, especially from local games stores, which is incredibly positive. From a production standpoint, though, the challenge remains for us to grow our capacity in line with the demand.
In response, we have decided to accelerate the next stages of our plan. We're replacing all of the old, legacy machines with the latest technology that will improve the speed and efficiency of the overall operation. Note, that the 50% increase we achieved last month was with this new technology, and by the end of next month we’ll have upgraded the remaining older models so we expect a significant increase in production capacity as a result.
Currently all miniatures are manufactured in the US, but from next month we will also begin manufacturing in Europe as well. This will both increase production capacity and greatly reduce shipping times to stores in the UK and Europe. We expect the first European-manufactured products to begin shipping in November.
We’re also working on building up local manufacturing in Australia so we can restart orders there. This will come online in a limited capacity by the end of this month, of which we’ll have more information next week. Full Australian production will follow later, and we’ll keep you updated on this.
In addition, we have decided that slowing down the pace of new releases over the next few months will help the production team as they ramp up. We’ll have much more detail on what the future looks like for upcoming Warmachine releases in our next manifesto release for the much-anticipated roadmap.
Finally, to help all of this go smoothly, we will also place some items on our website temporarily out of stock for a short period of time. We know that there are a small number of people whose orders will be affected by this, and we’ll be reaching out to them individually over the next few days.
Tracking Numbers
Before we close, we’re also aware of an issue with some tracking numbers not being received when orders ship from our distributor. All orders should automatically have tracking notifications sent, and this is something we’re investigating with the distributor at the moment to try and identify the issue.
Message From The Team
If you’ve ordered anything from us and have experienced a delay in receiving it, we understand the frustration and disappointment it has caused.
We are not happy about this, and we are sorry.
We take our responsibilities as custodians of Warmachine very seriously, and we’re working hard to get your minis to you and to eliminate any delays in the future.
We continue to be incredibly excited about the fantastic response Warmachine has received these last few months and can see a very healthy future for the game we all love.
