Alchemical chaos: Warmachine 3D goes off the rails
October’s Warmachine 3D collection is almost here, and it’s all steam, steel, and alchemy.
We announced on Friday The Crucible Guard will be rolling onto the digital front, bringing their most iconic battle engine and warcaster Captain Mackay looking to prove her machine’s might in battle.
Alongside them, the Cephalyx Overlords are back, returning from the shadows and carrying out sinister dirty work for the higher hive castes.
Cygnar Gravediggers Captain Buck Hasker also drops in this month as a tactical ghost dog variant. Buck dares. Buck wins.
EDIT October 1 — From this month onward, Warmachine 3D will focus on the Army Tier subscription. Almost all of you were already here (with just 29 folks at the Warcaster level), so it made sense to retire the smaller Warcaster tier. The result is simpler, cleaner, and gives everyone the full Warmachine 3D experience.
That means more flexibility on model variety, no confusion about tiers, and overall great value for your tabletop.
All those already at the Warcaster level will be getting a one-month upgrade to the Army Tier for no extra cost.
Eira and the Railless Interceptor: Father’s gift, daughter’s proving ground

Army Tier — Railless Interceptor & Eira Mackay
When Captain Eira MacKay refused the safe life of the laboratory, her father, renowned alchemist Callum MacKay, built her a fortress on wheels: the Railless Interceptor. Part locomotive, part weapons platform, it thunders across the battlefield with a full crew working in deafening unison.

This one-of-a-kind battle engine is the beating heart of the Crucible Guard’s rebirth, and Eira is determined to show that both she and her machine deserve their place in history. Now, for the first time in Warmachine 3D, you can print the pair together: Eira in command, the Railless roaring forward in all its alchemical glory.
Army Tier — Railless Interceptor

Built as a full battle engine in its own right, the Railless Interceptor can roll onto the table as a standalone battle engine, complete with its own commander’s hatch and signature Alchemical Cannon.

This kit lets you decide how to field it: as Captain Eira MacKay’s personal command vehicle with its distinctive Alchemical Mortar, or as the Railless Interceptor battle engine, crewed and armed for independent operations. Either way, you’re bringing one of the Crucible Guard’s most iconic inventions to life, ready to thunder down your enemies' frontlines. Bring earplugs.
Forge your battlefield: base toppers and terrain

Army Tier — Crucible Guard Base Toppers
Tie your army of alchemists together with Crucible Guard base toppers, themed for the faction’s industrial alchemist aesthetic.

Army Tier — Crucible Guard Terrain Pack
Ready to turn your table into an alchemical playground? The Crucible Guard terrain set has everything you need to make it look like the Guard just rolled a mobile lab straight onto your battlefield.

We’re talking bubbling acid vats, crackling arc reactors, and boilers that look one pressure spike away from going sky-high.

You’ll also find a fortified shack, refinery vats, a boiler core for your troops to brawl around, pipes and barricades to duck behind, and plenty of scatter to dress the field. Lantern poles, toolracks, even little cranes for shifting heavy kit, it’s the small details that make the Golden Crucible’s fortresses of alchemy feel alive.

Lay it all out and suddenly your Railless Interceptor isn’t just charging across a board, it’s tearing through the Crucible Guard’s own live test yard.
Stygius: Surgeon from the shadows

Army Tier — Dark Operations Stygius
Originally introduced as a famed doctor of Riot Quest’s Mayhem block, Stygius steps back onto the battlefield as a Dark Operations solo with scalpel in dendrite, schemes in mind, medical license revoked.

“An apple a day might keep the doctor away in the real world, but in a post-apocalyptic Iron Kingdoms, it’ll take some seriously heavy firepower to avoid a visit from Dr. Stygius!” — Riot Quest (2020)
Stygius embodies the Cephalyx philosophy of dissect now, talk later. Whether you see him as a healer, a torturer, or both, Stygius brings that much needed support to the hive that your foes will love to hate.
Overlords: Voices in the hive

Army Tier — Dark Operations Overlords
Returning to Dark Operations in October are the vile Cephalyx Overlords. Ever-present and ever-chilling, the Overlords are the unseen hand that directs the monstrosity hordes. Cloaked in sinister authority, they do not just give orders, they impose will. Allowing for monstrous subjects to be imbued with focus and magical weaponry.
Captain Buck Hasker: Leading the Ghost Dogs

Army and Warcaster Tier — Cygnar Gravediggers Captain Buck Hasker Ghost Dogs Variant
Cygnar’s warcaster captain gets a new look with the Ghost Dogs Variant. This Cygnar Gravediggers Command Starter alternate sculpt swaps the classic Gravedigger style for something leaner, meaner, and more covert. Inspired by special forces and commando units, the Ghost Dogs theme brings a rugged, boots-on-the-ground edge to your army.
“A relentless predator, Hasker was among the first warcasters to be recruited into the Gravediggers. There’s nowhere he won’t lead his forces, and no action he won’t take to bring victory against the Orgoth.
So much so that the Orgoth call him “Hulvuulk-Vakuul” — the Blade that Never Sleeps. Hasker lives at the vanguard of the Cygnaran line, appearing without warning to strike wherever he’s most needed, or to lead his commandos into enemy territory, sowing chaos and confusion in his wake.
For the Orgoth, Hasker represents an uncomfortable and even unprincipled threat, willing to deliver death through a knife in the back to achieve his ends.”
Whether you picture him cutting through the mud or coordinating a precision raid, this variant makes Hasker feel like the trenchline’s most battle-hardened veteran.

Who are the Crucible Guard?

The Crucible Guard were born from the Order of the Golden Crucible, a society of alchemists whose military arm once held Thunderhead Fortress in Leryn, Llael. Driven from their homeland by Khador’s invasion, they re-formed in Midfast, Ord, under the patronage of King Baird II.
Today, they stand as a modern fighting force unlike any other. Mercenary recruits trained in precision tactics, armed with weapons that fuse chemistry and engineering, and organised into storied companies like the Fire Wurms, Midfast Rifles, and Thunderhead Rifles. Where other armies wield steel and sorcery, the Crucible Guard wield progress itself.
