The Wraithbinder Nekane has existed for decades in the shadows between the great events that have defined and shaken the history of western Immoren. She would grow to adulthood in an Ios changed forever in the aftermath of the War of the Houses, a civil conflict in which the mighty hallytyr of the Consulate Court fought against one another.
The scion of a middling family owing fealty to the disgraced and villainous House Vyre that had been led by the outcast Ghyrrshyld against the other houses of the Consulate Court, Nekane grew up not expecting greatness but scorn.
