The Corrupted Forest Beckons. Do You Dare Answer its Call?
Get to know the ferocious foliage that awaits you in Epic Encounters: Forest of the Damned and Glade of the Evil Oak!
In ages past, this forest was young and thriving. As it grew to maturity, the lush wildwood stretched for many miles and provided a home to countless woodland creatures, natural and supernatural, and to hearty folk who lived off the land. A mighty river ran raucously through the thick canopy of greenery as the flora and fauna blossomed. Nature worked in harmony within the abundant overgrowth to create a blissful sanctuary.
Then, everything changed. A malignant shadow crept over the woods, infecting every plant and animal, transforming this once gentle haven into a place where nightmares roam. The trees are now twisted and gnarled, their branches reaching out like clawed fingers. The air is thick with the stench of decay, and the ground is soft and muddied. It is a place where few dare to venture, for it is rumoured to be home to all manner of evil creatures. Those who do enter the forest rarely return, and those who do are forever changed, their minds haunted by the horrors they’ve witnessed.
Many rumours exist as to how the forest came to be this way. Who can tell fact from fiction when the shadows creep through the dreaded wood, and reach out to ensnare the unwary?
Two Twisted New D&D Adventures from Guest Writer, Jason Charles Miller
Forest of the Damned
"I was really excited to create an encounter where the entire environment was alive and part of the challenge! The labyrinthian nature of the map itself will keep players on their toes, for although the path at first will seem clear, nothing is quite what it seems in this forest!
I’m eager for fans of the Epic Encounters series to see this unique map for the first time, and the creatures we created that are exclusive to this environment alone. We took everything you might see in a ‘fantasy’ forest setting and turned them on their head, then gave them a good twist!"

Glade of the Evil Oak
"As the ideal conclusion to the Forest of the Damned set, this is the final boss, the big salad you can never finish, although this salad is full of rotten ingredients, and they're moving!
For this one, I wanted to give Game Masters something that they could drop in as a final boss in the end of a campaign, or just a Great Big Bad for your favorite friends to take a crack at over an evening. I can't wait for the players to experience all the hidden surprises in this one. Look out for those roots!

Forest of the Damned and Glade of the Evil Oak are the latest releases in the Epic Encounters range. Just like other Epic Encounters sets, they’re designed to work both as standalone encounters (providing ideal D&D 5e one-shot adventures), as well as alongside each other as part of an epic, longer campaign.

Each set offers scalable encounters to fit with any level of adventuring party or campaign. Whilst bosses (such as our huge Evil Oak, here) have suggested attack patterns, with unique behavior and special rules to keep things interesting and make for cinematic and spectacular battles.
