Those whiskers of yours are mighty impressive. And that tail. Not to mention the sleekness of your fur. What a fine figure you are! If only you didn’t know it quite so much. There’s nothing wrong with self-confidence, of course, but really…
Otters are creatures of resourcefulness, courage, and wit. They’re also flamboyant, mischievous, and frequently found around the kind of ship described as ‘disreputable’, ‘insalubrious’, or downright ‘piratical’.
That’s not to say all otters are pirates, of course, but otters tend to value their own freedom, and they definitely dislike being bossed around.
You’re very loyal to your friends and would do anything for them, but you’re not being told what to do by some jumped-up landlubber in a tricorn hat, just because he thinks he knows how to steer a ship. Not a chance!
