This malevolent specter will soon be blasting its way back into Warmachine Prime, and its services are available right out of the gate to any Dusk House Kallyss or Cryx Necrofactorium warcasters who might be in the market for a phantasmal gunmage.

Coming to pre-order next Tuesday, the Hellslinger Phantom bears a striking resemblance to the Cygnaran warcaster, Allister Caine. Some rumours even suggest it was made from a sliver of his very soul. Others say it’s the product of dark magic; that Caine unleashed an unholy shadow of himself upon those who crossed him.
Whatever the truth is, one thing’s for sure: the Hellslinger Phantom brings a plethora of offensive and defensive trick shots to your forces. Let’s dig in.

As a gunmage, the Hellslinger can choose between three shot types with each of its Magelock Pistols.
First up is ‘Banish’, allowing you to place a model you damage 1”.
While the Hellslinger won’t be taking down heavy warjacks singlehanded, moving key models out of position for other heavy hitters to bring down can turn the tide of battle. Alternatively, use Banish to move difficult enemies away to deal with in a future turn. “Oh, your most important model doesn't have Pathfinder? Enjoy sitting in some rough terrain!”
Tired of having to deal with cover on Gravedigger Heavy Machine Gun Crews? Hellslinger’s got your back with Phantom Seeker. With it, you get to ignore most environmental defence bonuses like cover and concealment as well as line of sight. Those hidden key models aren’t as safe as they think from our ghostly gunslinger.
Speaking of ghostly gunslingers, the Hellsinger Phantom has a new, unique rule where it can take a point of damage to stop itself from losing incorporeal each time it attacks.
The last shot type is brand new to Warmachine: Spirit Drain. Spirit Drain lets you lower the efficiency of enemy warjacks and warbeasts by reducing the amount of focus or fury they can use next round. That’s one less focus or fury to make additional attacks or boost a critical roll.
Even better? You have two guns! Land this on two different cohorts for double the pain!
Nice shooting, Tex! But is that all?
Offense isn’t the only thing the Hellslinger brings to the table. In honour of the Hellslinger’s return to Prime, it only felt fitting to break out an old favourite — but with a twist. It’s Quick Draw!
Once per turn, when someone tries to shoot the Hellslinger, or a model within 3” of it, the Hellsinger can attempt to shoot that bullet out of the air, causing the shot to miss.
Better yet, if they’re foolish enough to try shooting the Hellslinger Phantom itself, and Quick Draw succeeds, the Hellslinger gets to fire a return shot with Reciprocate!
Here, let me just rub some salt in that wound for you; the Hellsinger’s here to prove they’re the fastest gun in the West(ern Immoren).

All in all, the Hellsinger is a versatile solo that can slot into a variety of House Kallyss, Necrofactorium, and soon, Reaper Covenant army lists. It brings a suite of tempo-controlling tools to help you shape the battlefield, all while protecting key pieces from pesky ranged attacks.
