In an Epic Encounters first, we’re beyond excited to share our guest writer for Glade of the Evil Oak and Forest of the Damned is Jason Charles Miller.
A mainstay of the tabletop industry, if you haven't already seen one of his many actual-play appearances, you’ve certainly heard his work. An award winning voice actor and musician, Jason has contributed to Dungeons & Dragons, Critical Role, Nerdist, and Dropout (to name a few!).
Now Jason is bringing a wealth of TTRPG experience and some truly wicked ideas to Epic Encounters as our first guest writer!
"For the past few years I've been fascinated with Steamforged Games' Epic Encounters. I'll admit, it took me a while to really dig into one of their boxes, but once I did, I was hooked! We all have so little time these days, but more people than ever are playing (or want to play) role playing games. With the time commitment of a long term campaign and scheduling so many people, how do you keep things fresh, but also have something satisfying for everyone in just one gaming session? After playing through quite a few of them, I noticed there was one theme missing: A haunted wood! Growing up in rural Virginia, I was surrounded by forests. Right across the road from my house, the trees used to beckon to me. I grew up with local legends like The Bunnyman, Cry-baby Bridge, and don't get me started on The Tooth Tree! Legends like this were what inspired me to write The Forest of the Damned and The Glade of the Evil Oak. They are visions of a little boy's nightmares brought to life. Enjoy, and try not to die!"
