From the pen of agent, Matt Goetz.
Eyes up, recruits. I am Sandrea Garsea, and it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to your first training session. You must have impressed Commander Keller enough to earn a spot in this year’s recruit training.
You’re standing in the training room of Blackwell Hall. This is where you are going to learn how to fight, how to move as a team, and how to use the techniques and technologies of the Strangelight Workshop.
You might be eager to strap on a pair of ghost punchers or fire up a baton, but we’re gonna start off with the basics. You need to know how to take a punch and how to take a fall. Prospective Bouncers and Jammers, this will be an important part of your job within a field team—but you Callers, Investigators, and Mechaniks aren’t off the hook! Everyone in a field team needs to know what to do when aspecter-possessed ogrun comes charging at you with brass on his knuckles and murder in his eyes.
We’ll get to your specialised training in due time. I’ve brought in experts in each of your roles, people who have been in the field and seen it all firsthand. Backfiring prototypes, empty suits of armor stomping around, and creatures that defy all natural laws. Take their advice to heart!
Strangelight Workshop is set in the Iron Kingdoms, focusing on the efforts of the Strangelight Workshop, an independent, investigative organisation. They seek to shine an eerie light on all matters infernal, spectral, and otherworldly. Somewhere between a bureaucratic adventuring society, fringe scientists working at the very edges of knowledge, occultists who seek dangerous knowledge no matter where it may lie, and a cabal of conspiracy theorists who spout unhinged theories about the nature of life, death, and the soul.
Most people who’ve even heard about them consider the agents of the Workshop to be eccentrics—that is until the walls start dripping with blood, furniture starts floating around the parlor, or grim specters of hanged men appear in their attic. The Workshop is happy to send out an expert team of field agents to help with your haunting problem (usually for a modest fee). You might have to sign a waiver.
Don’t worry about the fine print.
Compatible with the 5th Edition of the world’s most popular roleplaying game, Strangelight Workshop introduces six new classes, seven character ancestries, thirteen backgrounds, and pages filled with new spells, equipment, and the esoteric (and unpredictable) tools of the Strangelight Workshop. Need to see the invisible? Need to put a ghost in handcuffs, or pin it to the wall? The Mechanikal makers of the Workshop have your back with prototypes to solve all manner of problems, no matter how strange they are.
Put on your goggles and grab your projector, agents. Where we’re headed, things are going to get weird.
Pre-order the Strangelight Workshop now and prepare for your first assignment.
