The heavily armored Fane Knights are the cult’s ancient and traditional fighting forces. They were established in the centuries following the foundation of Eversael as a result of the priesthood’s great suspicion of the second Dawnguard, whom they have always seen as faithless upstarts. The Knights' loyalty to Fane has always been without question. Many fought to death in the defense of Eversael and the survivors followed their masters into catacombs beneath the ruins of the city.

With the subjugation of the Styrges, the Fane Knights learned to ride these beasts forming a nocturnal cavalry that could soar through the skies of Caen and fall upon their enemies unseen on moonless nights.
