Welcome, prospective Lich Lords of the Nightmare Empire. Today, we’ll be reviewing our newest creation with a view to imminent battlefield deployment: the Mechanithrall Swarm Warden.

We’re reacting to a shift in our enemies’ battle tactics. They’ve trained their soldiers to destroy Mechanithrall Swarms in a vain effort to prevent our substantial reconstitution powers from repopulating those swarms in the midst of engagements. This cannot be allowed to continue.
We have engineered the Swarm Warden Command Attachment to bolster the ranks of our Mechanithrall Swarms and afford them greater longevity, particularly when facing the explosive ammunition our enemies seem to favour.

How does the Swarm Warden bolster our Mechanithralls, you say?
We have enhanced its Corpulent Flesh to be specifically resistant to AOE attacks. It uses limited and focused necromantic power to absorb the entire explosive force into itself, protecting nearby Mechanithralls from the blast.
Because the Swarm Warden is a “Mechanithrall Swarm” being, it benefits from the Leadership ability of the Skarlock Lieutenant, providing it with Shield Guard, as it does for regular Mechanithralls.

Now, when an AOE ranged attack strikes a Mechanithrall Swarm, or another thrall of the Necrofactorium, the Swarm Warden can shift the attack to themselves using Shield Guard, and fully absorb the shot with their Corpulent Flesh.
To ensure they can withstand consecutive enemy attacks, we’ve further embellished their flesh with an Ancient Shroud, ensuring it takes at least three attacks to bring them down, before accounting for Tough.
Better yet, if your enemy wounds your Swarm Wardens but leaves them standing, your Necrosurgeon Initiates can repair the damage to them with Necrosurgery.

The offensive capabilities of Swarm Wardens are comparable to standard Mechanithralls, as Mechanithrall Swarms needed no upgrade in this regard. We’re assured they are already considerably offensive.
However, there is one further aspect worth your attention. Master Necrosurgeon Sepsira has further enhanced the Thrall Weapons of the Swarm Wardens to enable them to bolster Mechanithrall Swarms themselves with Death Toll.

When a Swarm Warden fells a living enemy, they can return fallen Mechanithralls not only to their own unit, but to other nearby units too.
Our newest creation will soon be yours to command, Lich Lords, and its rules have now been added to the Warmachine app. Secure yours and go forth in service of the Nightmare Empire.
