WARMACHINE WEDNESDAY: Maelstrom Compendium!
Wednesday has arrived, which means it’s time for your weekly drop of new content and features in the WARMACHINE app! However before we hop into that, here is a quick update on website orders:
Website Order Update
It’s safe to say it’s been an extremely busy couple of months since we announced the acquisition! Can you believe that was only June 3rd?
From the boom in website and retail orders to new members pouring in across our socials, we’re still blown away by all your support and what it means for the future of Warmachine.
(And if you’re not already in the Community group or Discord — now over 10,000 members! — you can hit the links to join.)
You’re all eager to get your hands on your pre-orders*, and we’re eager to get them to you, so here’s the latest update:
- Inline with our July 11th update, shipping began at the end of July. More than 25% of orders have already shipped from the manufacturing facility and are now en route to the hub, where they will be shipped on to you.
- This means you’ll get two shipping notifications. The first will be around the time your order arrives at the hub. The second will be around the time your order leaves the hub to head to you, and will include tracking information.
- To minimize delays, we’re shipping partial orders as soon as they’re ready at no extra cost to you.
- In the last order update, we confirmed US production capacity had been sped up to give us a 50% increase in capacity by the end of August. That’s now happening even faster. 25% of the additional capacity is already online, with the remaining 25% to be online by the beginning of next week.
- UK and EU orders will still ship from the US until domestic manufacturing is locked in. We hope to have these two territories, plus Australia, online in the next two months.
*Please note this doesn’t include pre-orders which are due to ship later, such as Yana, Orsus, and the Abyssal King.
Our customer support team won’t be able to give you any more info than what’s in this post, so unless there’s an issue you need to speak to someone about, please keep an eye on this blog and your inbox for news rather than submitting a ticket.
Demand is still high, which is a great sign, and we’re working full tilt to meet it and keep you updated.
Maelstrom Compendium!
This week’s update for subscribers is the next compendium: Cygnar’s Maelstrom, a first wholly galvanic colossal to take to the fields of battle in western Immoren, revolutionizing the machines of warfare in the Iron Kingdoms…
Before the Cygnaran Armory could lay the groundwork to initiate the Maelstrom project, a team from the new Storm Forge came forward and presented nearly complete plans for that wholly galvanic colossal.
A faction within the Storm Forge had accurately read the writing on the wall years before the War Council found the ability to pay for the development of the Maelstrom. They had begun back in 616 AR within weeks of completing the first field tests on the Stryker heavy warjack. Their work laid the foundation for the creation of the new colossals and greatly accelerated the project.
The most powerful and complex colossal ever developed, the Maelstrom entered service in late 622 AR. Though the project proceeded quickly from the moment it was initiated, the return of the Orgoth added new urgency to its completion. Its development had become an open secret, with virtually every free hand belonging to either the Cygnaran Armory or the Storm Forge pressed into service.
The machine’s great size and the complexity of its systems required some degree of training to fully utilize. The first Maelstroms were presented to Mechanik Adept Figmund Sparkhammer and Major Anson Wolfe to develop a training regimen and field guide for the warcasters controlling them in battle.
The great cost and sophistication of the Maelstrom has ensured it has been manufactured in small numbers, but the threat posed by the Orgoth-Cryx alliance is certain to keep it in production for years to come.
